Practice tournament

Nine players, no money, nobody watching. Same starting chips and same blinds as the real night. Press Coach any time you are not sure — and switch on Commentary at the table to have each hand talked through when it ends.

Friendly table The gentle game. The players bet their cards honestly and almost never bluff — you are here to learn, not to be tricked. Tougher table A real game, against eight players with their own habits — a maniac, a rock, one who calls everything, one who plays too many hands and rarely bets, and four who mostly play well, each in their own way. The habits are dealt out fresh to the names each game and hold for the whole game: spot them and use them. They know the Beyond the basics material, and they will bluff you now and then. They also notice how you play, and remember it from game to game — on this device only; nothing is sent anywhere.

Two things this cannot teach you

Handling chips, and dealing. Both come from doing them — which is what the beginners' evening is for.
